I searched through my gmail account for Husain’s email address and got 895 results. The first email correspondence was on September 30, 2004 and the last February 29, 2020 (at time of this writing) so roughly 15 years of interaction.
In my first email to him, I give him feedback on the website tasawwuf.org which seems to no longer be maintained, but according to The Wayback Machine was like this at the time: https://web.archive.org/web/20040923015305/http://www.tasawwuf.org/. The wording of my email implies he asked me for feedback at some point. Flattering! Little old me?
The next email I sent him was on April 16, 2005 so about six and a half months later. I ask him details regarding a Naqshbandi ijtima (gathering) Zulfiqar was planning in Chicago and I want to know if I can bring my family. He says I can. We also agree to meet in person so my wife and I can ask him questions about “marriage and our future plans.”
